Transient architecture, simply put, is how the local community inhabits found space. These spaces could range from parks to plazas, markets to alley ways, street corners to rooftops and everything in between. The social infill amidst the built environment has always been an interest of mine. I wanted to learn how people of varying cultures take this found space and create a use of their own, catered to the needs of the temporary and spontaneous. Some instances were meant to last for years, while others, mere minutes. The fleeting and metamorphic nature of these spaces is what drew me in to discover how, without brick and mortar, people created an inhabitable, social, transient architecture.
